Concrete is the building product most widely used throughout the world. It is one of the most economical and readily available constructions materials on the market today. Worldwide, more than one ton of concrete is produced each year for every living human being.
Very few would ever consider using any other product for the structural support of their buildings. Because it is so strong and durable, concrete is the choice for footings, foundation walls, basement walls, floors, and many other portions of each building.
The Concrete Promotion Council of the Ozarks is an organization of leaders from a wide variety of concrete associated businesses joining forces to educate owners, developers, architects, engineers, and other design professionals about the superior properties and many uses of concrete.
CPCOZ offers numerous programs and services. A representative sample of those programs and services is described here.
Producers, contractors, suppliers of materials, testing services, and more give our Council diversity; providing an alliance of concrete professionals interested in promoting concrete provides a forum through which they can coordinate efforts in the solution of problems common to the concrete industry.
Although still competitive, members realize they have more things in common than in conflict. They exchange ideas that will aid in the production of a quality product and better business practices.
CPCOZ members work hard to promote the increased use of concrete. They strive to expand knowledge and understanding about concrete to architects, engineers, general contractors, owners, and craftsmen.
Six membership meetings each year provide educational topics as suggested by the Board of Directors. Additionally, the meetings permit members the opportunity to develop important relationships with others in the industry.
Did anyone say golf? Twice each year the Council hosts a golf tournament providing an atmosphere for meaningful business discussions, relationships, and fun!
CPCOZ sponsors a program to certify Concrete Field Testing Technicians Grade-1. This program is conducted once each year in February. See the current flyer about this.
The CPCOZ newsletter keeps members abreast of upcoming CPCOZ activities. It includes CPCOZ’s news, general industry news, advertising, new member spotlights, and promotion success stories about other members and the Council as a whole.
In addition, a membership roster is published and distributed to our mailing list of nearly 500 contacts consisting of architects, engineers, contractors, and members.
Educational and technical literature and local concrete success stories are distributed by CPCOZ on a need basis.
Special events are often held in conjunction with membership meetings. Topics may include: Hot Weather Concreting, Cold Weather Concreting, Whitetopping/UT Whitetopping, Paving, Parking Lots, Tilt-Up, Conducting Slump Tests, F Number System for Flat Concrete Floor Slabs, Stamp and Design, Insulated Concrete Form Homes, and Quality Concrete Practices.
We offer continuing education credit to our architect and engineer seminar attendees by request prior to the event.
